Mechanic
New York Blood Center, one of the nation`s largest community based independent research, blood and clinical services organizations, has an excellent opportunity in the Building Services Department on the Evening Shift with varied hours.
Reporting the the Lead Mechanic, major responsibilities include ensuring the maximum amount of up time on all equipment, both mechanical and electrical, and responding to emergencies as deemed necessary to ensure the protection of life, property and product. In addition, you will perform general repair/maintenance, maintain all records/logs, assist with Engineering Department functions, conduct building inspections and attend safety/training meetings as required.
A High School diploma or equivalent, some experience in a trade, and the ability to read/write English, operate hand/power tools and be able to complete work assignments in a timely/professional manner are necessary. Experience in at least 2 of the following 6 areas of expertise are a must: Electrical, Refrigeration, HVAC, Process Controls, Carpentry & Door Hardware, Plumbing.
